dancingtowardsmyescape

This blog will be about my latest escape plan.... leaving my job to become a grad-student and moving from Cambridge,MA USA to Cambridge UK. There will be both blue and gray sky moments as I try to fumble my way through my new surroundings and an ocean out of my comfort zone.

OK Computer

I finally did it folk. I got a new computer! It is great and I am trying to learn all about it. My old one was slowly dying, her name was Tabatha the Tectra Toshiba and she was free and given to me by a little old lady who got it when she sign up for a quilting course....so it had all of this quilting software on it. This great guy at my old company pimped it up for me....but he even said, "look if this starts to go bad....throw it in the bin".

I decided to pre-empt any computer death and got the new one!!!! It is amazing what a difference the bright screen makes. When I went shopping I realized all the things I wanted sadly come standard now with all computers. I have finally left the cave and am now riding the dinosaur into the future. YEAHHH!!!

Hiya, Hey there

Hiya is a cute way of saying hello or hi here.

I have certain friends that are Hiya users and I love it! Makes me grin!

For the past months I have been trying to become a Hiya person…….it has been an awkward transition….one that might never fully happen.

Like a little kid apprehensively trying out a new hard word….I started saying it softly and when people were not looking at me…. and then I got the nerve and said it so that it was audible.

When I say it, People look up and do the sideways head thing! There is no real emotion behind this just as if they are saying ……. “Huh!”

This made me blush and follow it with a quick “Hey there!”

My first pronunciation of “Hiya”…….comes out like “High-Yay”!....as if I am the karate kid. Right……well I am getting much better at it!

So.... “Hiya” and now “Bye-ya”

BackLogPhotoBlog#3London Flower Market Easter Weekend

Easter Weekend went to London flower market for Florist with my friends ARAG and NAG. ARAG has a double life as an mPhil Spanish Lit. student here and a florist under "the" top florist in London where they also live. She is constantly split between London and Cambridge.....so I get to escape to London lots with her!

For Easter Weekend she allowed me to play florist with her for the flowers for a church's Easter Weekend. I love flowers and since I was little wanted to be a florist....so this was sooooo nice. Very fun and educational. We got to get up early and go to the flower market in London for Florist.

I only realized as I was leaving that I had my camera with me .....here are some photos.
