coffee beaker...

I am in trouble……. my coffee intake has already increased by 3fold since being in France (various reason: work load is HUGE, coffee machine is just down stairs and taste good)

BUT now FC (lab mate here) just came in with a new coffee machine for our lab so it is now…..next to me.

It is great and I will try to take it easy!

Funny thing is we don’t have any mugs so we are using clean Beaker.

I think that is cool. I would love if I had labware instead of kitchen stuff…but maybe that is just me.

I like Tuesdays...in Montpellier

I enjoy Tuesdays here..... It is my mom's day off and we get to have a nice chat!!! (plus this is the day back in Cam when our long long long morning lab meeting is....so here...I can't go...hee hee)

Party-poop-er (or anti-Planning)

.....I am turning 30 (woohooo) in 5 weeks.......and I will be back home 10days after that for the holidays. I can't wait to see my family and just sit in my house and do nothing...if I want to!

Thought I might try to plan something for a belated home celebration which would also be a reunion of shorts........I was all jazzed about this and got the idea from RoHu ....At first I thought...yeah this is easy I have had a hand at planning many a party and even other peoples' 30b-day....I stated making a list and thinking of places….but now I am thinking....Nah…I think it is a pass this year.

I think there are several reasons for this change of heart. I want this visit home to be super relaxed and chilled as the last time was not. I just don't feel like planning...I am my own worst enemy....I want things done right and not half ass... When RoHu was telling me about her 30th party she planned it seemed a perfect idea...as if you want something done right do it yourself. I mean who knows you better than you....and I had lots of ideas.

But I am away and feeling more and more far away from not only the places but the people. That is the risk you take when you leave and that is only natural. Life goes on and people come and go.

I think it is more fitting for me to do something odd and celebrate 33 with a big blast or my 30 half birthday!

If a party popper pops and no one is around does it make a noise?

this entry is not meant to be depressing ....it is just matter of fact.....I am very lucky I got to have a mini celebration on my 10,000 day alive…so really I am all set.

Turkey's done.....

Today is All Saints day ...so a holiday and then Friday is a "Faire le pont".....take a day off between to bank holydays and weekend....

So long weekend…unfortunately I didn’t realize this until two days ago and started an experiment that required me to come in today…but that is ok. When I am not at work I am without internet….so I get to do an entry before I have a long weekend.

Things are still really good!

Back at the Ranch….ala House in Cambridge…SAJF is working to get all of the little things…..and some that have led to bigger things fixed by the landlord….who is a good man and sends people over right away, once he knows. The problem is with us…we see these little things and don’t say anything or try to fix them…and well that just means that before I left I had to call with a long list of problems.

The place is nice….and has been refurbished and with new furniture that is super cool and grown up…..but we now have a dampness issue…which has translated into other issues….Like Doors swelling so you can’t open them……

Nothing serious but things that make SAJF (who is the best housemate and friend ever) and I burst out laughing…..beause it looks sooooo nice….but we learning this house’s secrets….

Last night I spoke to SAJF and asked how it was going (as I have ran away from the scene) and he was bringing me up to date on the progress, some new problems,

and finally he said, “ Well, Maybe the house is trying to speak to us!”

Me: “OK well then speak back!”

SAJF: “How ?...Oh what like that time in Friends when they say goodbye to the hotel room and hug the walls?”

Me:…hee hee “Yeah like that…”….SAJF really loves Friends and is now getting used to the real actors voices after years of hearing the French actors voices….

Anyway he is visiting me in his country for my holiday….Thanskgiving….We will do it with a French twist….and that night we are going to watch a movie that I love and that I think can make us understand and laugh about our house issues…….
